Article contents - Steps on how to upload documents/images and add descriptions.
You can upload documents and images to Buildxact in the document section. This can be found under the Lead details, Estimate details or Job Details tab a can be used to store documents and images. Common examples are -
Plans (the full sets as opposed to the plans in the Plans and Takeoff area)
Uploads are limited to 50mb per file.
How to upload documents/images to Buildxact
Note: You can upload from the Lead details, Estimate details or Job Details tab in the documents section. The example below will be shown from the Estimate details tab.
From the Estimate details tab scroll down the the Documents section located of the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
In the Upload file box click or drag and drop on top the documents/images you want to upload. For this example we are going to click the Upload File box.
In the files pop up find the documents/images you want to upload, select them and click the Open button.
In the left-hand pop out dialog box you can Create New Folder name if needed or add to an existing folder then click the green Upload button.
How to add descriptions to uploads
You can add descriptions to documents and images you upload to Buildxact. This can be helpful if you are planning to then share with your customer on the client portal timeline.
Click on the document or image you wish to add a description to.
Click the Add Description button (1) and type your description (2) in and hit enter on your keyboard when finished. You can then click the share button to share to the timeline.
Note: once an item with a description is shared to the client portal timeline it cannot be changed in the client portal. You can change inside your Buildxact account however it will not reflect in the client portal.
The following is the currently supported file formats:
Upload limit of 50mb per file.
