Blu Business Management Skill

Ask questions about your whole Buildxact account

Written by Dan C

The Blu by Buildxact Business Management Skill looks across your whole Buildxact account, so you can ask it questions about your business and get answers based on your own data. This article shows you where to find it and how to use it.

Watch the video below to see this in action, or continue reading for step-by-step details.

Where to find the Blu Business Management Skill

Go to the Dashboard in your Buildxact account. You'll find Blu in the very top right-hand corner.

What can I ask it?

Because the Blu Business Management Skill looks across your whole account, you can ask it all kinds of questions. When you open it, you'll see example questions under Try asking, and you can click any of them to ask straight away. They cover:

  • Projects that need your attention - for example, Which projects need my attention right now?

  • Budget - for example, Where am I currently over budget? and Which projects are likely to exceed budget based on current commitments?

  • Estimate vs actual - for example, What's driving my biggest estimate vs actual variances?

  • Future estimates - for example, What should I estimate differently on future jobs?

  • Summaries - get a summary of information from your account.

  • Conversions - see how your leads, estimates and jobs are tracking.

You'll likely think of plenty more questions of your own. You don't need to worry about spelling, either. Blu will still understand what you're asking.

Ask a question

  1. Open Blu from the top right-hand corner of your Dashboard.

  2. Type your question, or choose one of the example questions. For example: What portion of my leads convert to jobs?

  3. Blu will have a think and look up the information it needs. As it works, you'll see exactly what it's checking, such as your estimates and leads.

  4. Read the answer. For example: Of your 41 leads, 14 converted to jobs (35%).

Where the answers come from

Blu looks directly at the data in your account. Its answers will often mention an ID or say where the information came from, so you can see exactly what it used to work out the answer.
