Accessing dealer/supplier catalogs from Estimate Costings

This article outlines how to view and connect with dealer/supplier catalogs from the Estimate Costings screen in Buildxact.

Learn how to get quick and easy access to dealer/supplier catalogs, including recipes/assemblies and live price files.

View dealer/supplier catalogs from Estimate Costings

  1. Navigate to your Estimates in Buildxact and select the estimate you're looking to cost.

  2. Click on the Estimate Costings tab. You will see a drop-down menu on the right-hand side of your screen. This menu contains a list of the dealers/suppliers in Buildxact.

  3. Selecting the Catalogs tab shows you your connected dealers/suppliers and the list of dealers/suppliers available to connect with.

4. When you select a specific dealer/supplier you access their inventory of items which are searchable by name or by scrolling through the categories. See below.

Connect with a dealer/supplier from Estimate Costings

From the Catalogs tab you can choose from a list of dealer/suppliers in Buildxact that are available to connect with. Do this by clicking Connect (1) to the right of the dealer/supplier name.

The following screen will appear, asking you to fill out your Buildxact account number and additional business details. Click Connect.

Once your request to connect has been approved, you'll receive an email from your chosen dealer/supplier.

Add an item to a costings category

  1. If you know the name of the item that you want to add to your estimate costings, search for that item by typing in the name in the search bar.

  2. Alternatively, you can select the category from the drop-down list.

3. From within the category, select the item type.

4. Select the item and click Add.

5. Add the item selected to the correct category from your estimate costings. It's possible to add the item to a new category if needed. Just scroll to the bottom of the list of categories and click 'Add to new category'. A new category, containing this item, will appear in your estimate costings.

Add an assembly/recipe to Estimate Costings

You can add an assembly/recipe from your dealer/supplier from within Estimate Costings by selecting the Assemblies/Recipes tab.

  1. Click on the Assemblies/Recipes tab.

  2. Select the dealer/supplier catalog with the assembly/recipe you're looking to add.

3. Search for the assembly/recipe by typing into the search bar, or

4. Select the category from the list.

5. Select the assembly/recipe you want to add to your estimate costings and click Add.

6. Select the costings category you want to add the assembly/recipe to by scrolling through the list. It's possible to add the assembly/recipe to a new category if needed. Just scroll to the bottom of the list of categories and click 'Add to new category'. A new category, containing this assembly/recipe, will appear in your estimate costings.

Accessing the Pricing Assistant - North American users only

Please note: the pricing assistant was previously located as a green button on the Estimate Costings page. You can now find this information under the Pricing Assistant tab.

The Pricing Assistant tab (sitting alongside Assemblies and Catalogs) launches the integrated 1build modal. This tool gives you access to accurate construction cost data from your area.
