Introduction
The pricing assistant feature in Buildxact is a valuable tool that provides labor and material prices tailored to your location. Powered by 1Build, this feature allows you to access accurate pricing information, making it easier to estimate costs for your construction projects. In this article, we will guide you on how to use the pricing assistant effectively.
Accessing the Pricing Assistant
Please note the change to the location of the pricing assistant tab. See below.
Open your Buildxact account and navigate to the estimate costing screen.
Locate the pricing assistant tab, which can be found alongside Assemblies and Catalogs.
Searching for Prices
Upon opening the pricing assistant, you will be asked for your location if you haven't previously entered it. You'll also find a search bar where you can enter keywords related to the item or material you want to price. Please note: it's important to enter your location for the most accurate prices and in order for you to add assemblies to your estimates.
Enter your search term and press Enter or browse items.
The pricing assistant will display the top results related to your search, organized into categories.
Browse through the categories to find the specific item you are looking for.
Click on the item to view detailed information, such as pricing per unit (linear foot, square foot, etc.), labor rates, and additional options.
Adding items to your project
If you wish to add the item to your project, simply click 'Add to Project'
You will be presented with a list of categories from your project's estimate costings.
Select the category you want to add the item to. The item will appear in a new line at the bottom of that estimate costing category. All fields (description, quantity, price) are also added automatically.
βNote: Keep in mind that the description box has a character limit of 250, so be selective when copying.
Additional Features
The pricing assistant offers additional options, such as burdened labor rates, which include on-costs like supplemental pay and insurance.
