The following video outlines how to create a job within the Buildxact platform. It also shows you the different types of jobs and default invoices, as well as how job acceptance works.
Create a job
Navigate to Jobs, in the left-hand menu.
Click on Create New.
A new job form will appear. Fill out the details of the job, including the job description and the invoice method used, and click Create job. Tip: The recommended workflow in Buildxact is to follow the sequence: Lead → Estimate → Job. This ensures a streamlined and organized project management process.
Your job can now be found under Jobs in the left-hand menu.
Create a job from an existing estimate
To create a job from an estimate, navigate to Estimates in the left-hand menu.
Click on the estimate you want to create a job for.
From within the estimate, click on Create job.
The form will auto populate with details from your chosen estimate. Note: Always finalize your estimate before converting it into a job to avoid complications. This ensures that all necessary details are accurate and complete.
The job description.
The building type.
The client name.
The expected start date.
The invoice method (choose from the drop-down menu).
When you're satisfied with the included information, Click 'Create job'
Your newly created job can now be found under Jobs.
Creating a second job from the same estimate
If you need to create a second job from an estimate that already has a job linked to it, follow these steps:
Copy the original estimate in Buildxact.
Modify the quote number or other identifiers as needed to avoid duplication and ensure compliance with your contract requirements.
Use the copied estimate to create a new job. Once a job is created from an estimate in Buildxact, the job becomes permanently linked to that estimate. This linkage cannot be reversed or altered. If you need to create a new job, you must start with a new estimate or a copy of the existing estimate. This ensures that each job is uniquely associated with its own estimate.
