This article explains how to have Buildxact measure volume using inches as the depth.

When conducting a volume takeoff in cubic feet or cubic yards, it is not uncommon for users to want to express the depth in inches rather than feet. Fortunately, there is a straightforward way to do this in Buildxact. Just input the fraction of a foot that corresponds to the desired inches.

For example, in the image below, the desired depth is 6 inches. To indicate this accurately, we have entered 0.5ft, and you can see that Buildxact has converted it to 6 inches on the label next to the drawn shape.

The table below details common conversions. However, if you encounter a measurement not listed, the process involves dividing the number of inches by 12 to obtain the equivalent in feet as a decimal.
