If you try to upload a protected or locked PDF/Plan to Buildxact you will get the following message:

If you know the PDF password, you can enter it and commence the importing process. 

If you don't know the PDF password, you have the following two options: 

Contact the person that sent you the plans and ask them to send you an unprotected copy or provide the password. 

Use a free website to unlock the document to allow you to upload. We recommend the following websites:

These will allow you to unlock a PDF by uploading it to their website, converting to an unlocked version that you can then download.
