When you have created a new quote letter from your estimate costings using the Prepare Quote button, you will see a Save as New Layout button (highlighted below). Clicking on this button will allow you to save all the changes you have made to the layout and use it across other estimates in your Buildxact account. Additionally, saving layouts allows you to set them as defaults for new estimates, ensuring consistency and saving time in future projects.
Overview of Quote Letter Layouts
Quote Letter layouts allow you to customize the appearance and content of your estimates. By saving a layout as a global option and applying it to your default template, you can ensure consistency across all new estimates.
Customize Your Layout
Open an existing estimate that has the desired Quote Letter layout.
Make any necessary edits to the layout to meet your requirements.
In the left-hand menu pop out, give your new customized layout an appropriate Layout Name and Layout Description. Click the Save Layout button to save.
Set the Layout as the default in your template
Open your default estimate template.
Select the saved global layout as the Quote Letter layout for the template.
Apply the Template to New Estimates
All new estimates created from this default template will now use the selected Quote Letter layout automatically.
Tips for Managing Layouts
Remove Unused Layouts: If you have layouts that are no longer in use, consider removing them to keep your options organized.
Test Your Layout: Before applying the layout to all new estimates, create a test estimate to ensure the layout appears as expected.
Note: Any new quote letters you begin will automatically save any changes made on the Buildxact Customizable Layout as a copy allowing you to use it for that specific estimate at any given point. This differs from global layouts, which can be applied across multiple estimates and set as defaults for new projects.
