Filter, delete and restore items in Buildxact

Written by Dan C

This article explains how to filter your lists, hide completed work, and delete and restore items in Buildxact. It applies to list pages across Buildxact, such as leads, estimates, jobs, clients, contacts and RFQs.

Please note: we're gradually updating the look of Buildxact, so how you filter a list and restore deleted items depends on whether that screen has been updated. Updated screens use the Filter button for both. Screens that haven't been updated yet still use the side menu and settings option. Both methods are covered below. To learn more about what's changing, see New Buildxact layout.

Filter a list

On updated screens

  1. Open the section from the left-hand menu, for example Leads or Clients.

  2. Click the Filter button at the top left, next to +Create New.

  3. Choose what you want to see, for example only new or won leads.

On screens that haven't been updated yet

When you open a section from the left-hand menu, a side menu shows the different statuses for that list. Select and deselect the statuses you want to see. For example, deselect Completed in Jobs to hide completed jobs.

Hide completed items

Lists are filtered by status, so keeping statuses up to date lets you hide work that's finished. Here are two common examples.

Update an estimate's status

Open the estimate, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the estimate name, then select the status you want.

Mark a job as complete

A job shows as completed once its schedule reaches 100%. If a finished job still shows as In Progress or Not Started, mark it as complete:

  1. Open the job.

  2. Go to the Schedule page.

  3. Click the settings cog.

  4. Select Mark job as complete.

Delete an item

To delete an item, such as an estimate or job, click the trash can icon.

Buildxact doesn't permanently delete items. Instead, it hides them from view, so you can restore them at any time.

Restore a deleted item

On updated screens

  1. Click the Filter button at the top left, next to +Create New.

  2. Filter the list to show your deleted items.

  3. Restore the items you need.

On screens that haven't been updated yet

  1. Go to the list page, for example Estimates or Jobs.

  2. Click the settings option.

  3. Select Deleted items.

  4. Restore the items you need.
