Over the coming weeks and months, you'll see a series of improvements to the look and feel of Buildxact, starting with list pages. This article explains what's changing, why, and where to find things in the new layout.
Watch the video below to see this in action, or continue reading for step-by-step details.
Why we're making these changes
We get a lot of great feedback through the app and on social media, and we want to keep turning those ideas into improvements. To do that, some of the foundations need updating, and the menus are one of them.
The big focus is making better use of your screen space. At the moment, opening a section like Estimates brings out a secondary menu that takes up a large part of the screen. With more people using Buildxact on phones and tablets, we want to give you as much room as possible to work, and make getting around Buildxact on a mobile browser much easier.
What's changing on list pages
List pages, such as Clients, Contacts and Leads, are being updated:
No more secondary side menu: when you open a list page, the secondary menu no longer pops out.
Filters are now in the list: click the Filter button at the top left, next to +Create New, to narrow down what you see. For example, you can show only new or won leads.
Show or hide columns: click the three dots icon at the top right to choose which columns to show or hide. You can also sort the list by column.
Tabs across the top: in some sections, options that used to sit in a sub-menu now appear as tabs across the top of the page.
Restoring deleted items
Previously, you restored deleted items from Settings (or the cog icon) > Deleted Items. On the new list pages, click the Filter button and filter the list to show your deleted items, then restore them from there.
What's coming and when
These changes are rolling out gradually, so nothing will change drastically overnight. They apply to all regions and plans.
First up: the Clients and Contacts list pages.
Over the following weeks: the Leads, RFQ, Catalogues, Integrations and Community list pages, plus Business Settings and My Profile.
Later in the year: a new main navigation menu, plus updated colours and themes in line with our new brand.
After that: a new dashboard and a more consistent experience across our Blu AI features.
We'll keep this article updated as each change arrives.
