We're making ongoing improvements to the navigation and look and feel of Buildxact. This article explains why things are changing, what's changed in your account so far, and what's coming next.
Watch the video below to see this in action, or continue reading for step-by-step details.
Why we're making these changes
There are two main reasons:
More people are using Buildxact on mobile devices: our data shows more customers than ever are working on mobile devices, like phones and tablets. To make the screen fit those devices as well as possible, we're shrinking and consolidating the menus so you have more room to work.
Making room for your feedback: we get a lot of great feedback, and we go through all of it. Much of it is for new features, so we're doing some supporting work to make sure new things fit neatly into the menus and navigation.
What's changed on list pages
The Leads, Request for Quote, Clients, Contacts and Catalogue screens now have a new list look:
No more secondary side menu: when you open one of these screens, the secondary menu no longer pops out.
Filters are now in the list: click the Filter button at the top left of the screen to narrow down what you see, for example by status.
Show or hide columns: click the three dots icon at the top right to choose which columns to show or hide. You can also sort the list by column.
Tabs across the top: in some sections, options that used to sit in a sub-menu now appear as tabs across the top of the page.
Restoring deleted items
Deleted items now live in the filters. Previously, you restored deleted items from the Settings button in the top right-hand corner of each screen. Now, click Filter > Deleted, then restore the items you need from there.
My Business and My Profile are now Account Settings
The My Business and My Profile sections have been merged into one place. You'll now find Account Settings in the lower left-hand section of the menu.
Everything you used to set up across separate sections is now together, including:
Your business details
Your subscription
Your users
Business setup, such as tax rates and the sources that feed the drop-down menus in Buildxact
Password management and log out
We've also smoothed out how you edit these settings, so you no longer need to jump between different sections to make a series of changes.
What's coming and when
These changes are rolling out gradually, so nothing will change drastically overnight. They apply to all regions and plans.
Next up: more of the sidebar areas will move to clean list views, and some of the colouring across Buildxact will change.
End of 2026 to early 2027: updates to estimate navigation and the dashboard, so the whole system is consistent right the way through.
We'll keep this article updated as each change arrives.
