How do I message my client using the client portal?

Learn how to communicate with your customer through the Client Portal.

You can use the client portal to chat with your clients and keep track of communication.

Access Client Portal Messaging from the Leads tab

  1. Click on Leads in the left-hand menu.

  2. From your list of Leads, select the lead you want to communicate with.

3. Click on the Communication tab.

4. To begin a new conversation, click on Create New.

5. To send a new message in an existing conversation, click on the relevant conversation.


The new message will appear on the left side of your screen. Enter the subject and message you wish to send. Click Submit to send your message.

Once you have sent your message, it will appear under the Communication tab (see below).

Access Client Portal Messaging from the Communication tab

  1. Navigate to Communications in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select Conversations. This will show your conversations across all your client portals.

  3. Click on the conversation with the client that you want to message.


4. In the box that appears, begin typing your message in the text bar.

Can I add attachments to my messages?

โ€‹To add attachments to your client messages, navigate to the Communication tab in Leads. Select the relevant conversation.

Clicking on the '+' button to the left of the message bar will allow you to add attachments to your message.

Your customer will receive the message inside their client portal and will be able to reply to you from there (as shown below).

When your customer replies, you will see that you have a new unread message indicated by the orange dot next to the Communication tab in Buildxact (1). The Communications section will show your new messages indicated with an orange dot (2). Select your unread message (3).
