If you've enabled 2FA on your inbox, you'll need to follow a few extra steps to get connected to Buildxact.

To successfully connect your 2FA-enabled email account to Buildxact, you will need to generate what's known as an 'app password'. This app password replaces the password that is set on your email account when going through our connection process.

The steps to generate this vary depending on the email provider. Here we'll cover Outlook 365.

Outlook 365

Log in to your Outlook 365 account at https://outlook.office.com

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right of the screen

  2. Navigate to 'My Account'

3. Navigate to Security & Privacy
4. Click on 'Additional Security Verification'
5. Navigate to 'Create and manage app passwords'

6. Click 'create' and enter a name for your app password (eg. Buildxact), then click next.

An app password will be generated for you. Note that you won't be able to retrieve this password later on, so make sure you save it somewhere on your computer or you'll need to generate a new app password if you ever need to reconnect.ย

Now that you have an app password, follow the steps in our Outlook 365 connection article, replacing your normal password with the app password we just generated.
