How do I log in to Buildxact?

All the different ways to login and troubleshooting for login issues.

Written by Dan C

Buildxact uses verification codes and other secure sign-in methods to help protect your account and keep your Buildxact data secure.

Depending on your account and how you sign in, you may be asked to verify your identity using a code sent by email or SMS, an authenticator app, or by signing in with Google or Microsoft.

These security checks help make sure that only authorised users can access your Buildxact account.

Logging in with email or SMS

  1. Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Buildxact account.

  2. Click Continue.

  3. Depending on the verified contact details on your account you may get the choice of to get your code via sms or email.

  4. Enter the verification code you receive.

  5. Click Continue to log in.

You won't always see both email and SMS options. The options available depend on which email addresses and phone numbers have been verified for your Buildxact account.

Logging in with Google or Microsoft

You can also use Google or Microsoft to log in to Buildxact if these options are available for your account.

Upon choosing this option you'll be taken to log into that third party account.

The Google or Microsoft account you use must be associated with the email address on your Buildxact account.

Using an authenticator app

Some Buildxact accounts require an authenticator app as an additional security step when logging in.

An authenticator app generates a time-sensitive verification code that you enter into Buildxact.

Common authenticator apps include:

Setting up an authenticator app

If you're asked to set up an authenticator app:

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone.

  2. Open the authenticator app.

  3. Scan the QR code shown in Buildxact.

  4. You'll be given a recovery code, we suggest you store this. An easy option is to email it to yourself so you can search for it later.

  5. Enter the verification code generated by the authenticator app.

  6. Complete the setup.

If you can't scan the QR code, select Trouble scanning? to use the manual setup option.

Don't use your phone's normal camera or a generic QR scanner. You need to use an authenticator app to complete the setup.

Logging in with an authenticator app

Once your authenticator app is set up:

  1. Log in to Buildxact using your email address or phone number

  2. When prompted for your authenticator code, open your authenticator app.

  3. Enter the current 6-digit code.

  4. Click Continue.

If available, you can select Remember this device for 30 days when logging in from a trusted device.

Resetting your authenticator setup

If you've lost access to your authenticator app, replaced your phone or can no longer generate a valid code, your authenticator setup may need to be reset.

You can do this via the recovery code you received upon setup. If you've lost the code, contact Buildxact Support for help resetting your authenticator setup.

Once it has been reset, you'll need to set up your authenticator app again using a new QR code.

What about passwords?

Buildxact no longer supports passwords for new logins.

If your account was previously using a password, you may still be prompted to enter it. Users who continue to use a password will also need to complete an additional authentication step.

We no longer:

  • Create passwords for users

  • Reset passwords

  • Provide password-based login for new users

If you're having trouble with an old password-based login, use the available verification options or contact Buildxact Support.

Login troubleshooting

Email code

Try the following:

  • Check your junk or spam folder.

  • Confirm you're using the correct email address.

  • Search your inbox for emails from Buildxact.

  • Wait a moment and request a new code.

SMS code

Try the following:

  • Confirm you're using the correct phone number.

  • Make sure your phone has mobile service.

  • Check that the number associated with your Buildxact account is correct.

  • Wait a moment and request a new code.

If you don't see an email or SMS option, that may be because the corresponding email address or phone number hasn't been verified for your account.

My authenticator code isn't working

If your authenticator code isn't being accepted:

  • Make sure you're entering the current code.

  • Check that the code hasn't expired.

  • Make sure you're using the authenticator app that is connected to your Buildxact account.

  • Check that your phone's date, time and time zone are correct. Authenticator codes are time-based, so an incorrect date or time can cause the code to be rejected.

Check your phone's date and time

On iPhone:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Select Date & Time.

  4. Turn on Set Automatically.

  5. If this option is unavailable, make sure the correct date, time and time zone are selected.

On Android:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Date & Time.

  3. Turn on Automatic.

  4. If this option is unavailable, make sure the correct date, time and time zone are selected.

After correcting your phone's date and time, try the authenticator code again.

This will help us troubleshoot the problem more quickly.
